clipped markers with fill:none + stroke:none

Bug Description

It's possible to have a path without fill or stroke but with markers. Unfortunatly Inkscape rendering engine does clip the markers at the bounding box of the path. Other programs do not, in particular PDF export works fine. If you set fill color then the markers are not clipped.

I can confirm that markers are clipped to bounding box if the path they're applied to doesn't have fill and stroke. Usually you need to zoom, move the path or hover over it to see it (after removing fill and stroke or adding it back)

Im on fedora 8, build from May 19th

I'm setting it to low importance as you can work around it:

Set fill or stroke to the path, and change the opacity of the *color* to 0 (not the opacity of entire object cos markers would be invisible too)

rendering is correct with Inkscape 0.48+devel r10372 custom. I guess the cairo merge (r10326) fixed this.

I found this (or a very similar) bug again in 0.91 (from the ppa) today, see screenshot.

Export to png works correctly, it's only the display in Inkscape which is affected.
