Crashed when trying to make a group of all elements in the drawing.

A 36x24 inch drawing with lots of vectors (probably 50,000, maybe 70,000)
and two images (2265x2674 RGB). Vectors are imports from inkscape files
created by converting pdf files produced by cad programs.
The file size is 16614754 bytes. Two layers: Layer1 & Text. Most objects
are on layer1, with maybe 400 charcters worth of text on the text layer.

System is all compiled 64 bit (kernel & user space & apps)
inkscape -V reports: Inkscape 0.46 (May 4 2008)
New feature: When an operation will require using lots of memory for
history, notify user and give the option of saving & then discarding all
history so memory usage isn't doubled.
Or maybe create a user configurable threshold for how much memory the
items in the history list can consume. Automatically prune the oldest items
before doing a large memory allocation.
