Bug Description

Error #1)

When saving my .SVG files as PDF documents and then opening the results in Adobe Acrobat Reader 8, the graphics I'd created show up as disjointed and, in one case, the files show as blank in someone's Reader. This has happened in both the 0.45 and 0.46 versions of InkScape. One of the original .SVG files is attached with this message for your examination.

On the advice of another user, I've had to Export my graphics as .PNG Bitmap files (of 6000 dpi), Import them into New Files and then save them as PDFs to have anything decent to display in Acrobat Reader.

Error #2)

While saving one such .PNG file as a PDF, I received the following Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Mesage Box:

"Runtime Error:

Program: C:\Program Files\Inkscape 2\inkscape.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."

The resulting PDF was damaged and I had to re-save.

Please let us all know what is being done to eradicate these errors.

In addition to my report, I've attached the resulting PDF version of the .SGV I already submitted.

I observe the same behavior on 0.46 running on Unix: the produced PDF file does not correctly represent the SVG drawing.

Crash reproduced with 0.47 on Windows, but not with the dev version (but I have an error instead).

The problem is most likely caused by the weird definition of the lines. The lines are straight, but are actually curved segments, that curve back on themselves. I think Inkscape doesn't really know how to render such weird lines, and Adobe acrobat does something different. I think Adobe renders them more correct than Inkscape. Advice: don't make such weird lines! (how did you create those lines?)

Sorry :)

Confirmed that it is not reproced anymore on latest trunk. Crash on png conversion also does not occur anymore.
