DXF export causes read error ACAD LT

Bug Description

Exporting to DXF gives the following error in ACAD LT:
DXF read error on line xxxx

I found out that the cause are Beziers with Curved lines. When I select all nodes of the Bezier, and select the icon for "convert segment to straight" (if I'm correct), followed by the DXF export of the file, ACAD reads the file OK.

I hope this can be solved.

DXF files that Inkscape outputs are not intended to be used in ACAD and CAD software as such. They are very primitive DXF files for desktop plotters. Thus the reason could be that ACAD simply doesn't not read that particular DXF type of files.

this output routine was modified on March 29 or so, see Bug 192923
It might be worthwhile to try a recent build to see if the result is better.

could you submit a sample .svg file that you would like to convert to .dxf ?

Actually the error I get is slightly different:

Undefined group code 370 for object on line 16.
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

I have some sample files that I tried to convert to DXF, which I already
sent at June, 15, but they don't seem to have arrived.

Here they are again.

Best regards,
René Don

- running Win32 Inkscape19976-081006.7z
- attached is the dxf version of the helmet.svg file
- the file helmet.dxf is viewable in Voloview Express 2.01 build 811
and in Autodesk DWG TrueView 2008
- it was produced by unchecking the option that says ROBO-Master Output
- this output routine was modified in response to Bug 192923 and Bug 255157, so probably the simplest thing to do would be to try a recent version of Inkscape

- attached is the dxf version of the file Tekening3.svg
- this file is viewable in Voloview and DWG TrueView as above.
- in order to produce this file successfully some additional steps were necessary because the file had some 'transform' elements in it
- the procedure was :
- choose the menu item Edit | Select All
- choose the menu item Path | Object to Path
- choose the menu item Object | Ungroup
- hit the down arrow once, just to force a refresh of the image
- export to dxf as above, unchecking the ROBO-Master output option

in order for this to work you will need a version newer than Bug 192923, March 29
