Bug Description

This is not a bug, but a feature request or suggestion...What about a capture box feature for patterns? Every time I have tried to make my own patterns it leaves lines around the outside of my selection, which may be my bad, but what if there was a capture pattern box, that way you could pattern/tile the areas you want, especially on a repeat pattern or tessellated tile? Likewise, some screen tone preset patterns would be lovely! Thank you much!

-Infinite blessings!

Could you please elaborate a little bit more on how you would see such capture box working?

I was thinking if there were a way to capture an area, much like a screen
capturing tool like MWSnap "snap any rectangular area" or the "select box"
tool in Photoshop which would capture an area to be patterned, becoming the
current pattern in the "fill and stroke" pannel, and would not affect the
nodes of the original. I don't know if I explained this very well, but I
think it would be a nifty feature.

I am currently using the pre 0.46 on Windows Vista, and had the 0.45.1, and
I love the new features! Inscape is a fabulous program! I feature some of my
Inkscape creations on my

.

Thank you!
