Comment 0 for bug 196453

Items that are fully transparent cannot be clicked on to select them. Similarly the mouse cursor does not change when it moves over them. They still exist in the SVN and can only be selected by rubber band.

Similarly, the right-click popup menu does not appear for these objects, even when selected. (This may be related to #168618.)
