I'd like a feature to union path automatically with calligraphic pen while caps lock key is on.

Now Inkscape union path automatically with calligraphic pen while pressed shift key.

This feature make easy to draw complex path like comic illustration as one object.

Maybe This bug is near to Bug #170388(paintbrush tool).

Fixed in SVN. Both the calligraphy and the pencil tool now take caps lock into account for unioning paths.

Max, this is a feature, and we are in feature freeze...

Besides I'm not sure about capslock. Why this key in particular? We don't use it anywhere else, it's not consistent. Needed discussing, at least. I was planning to do a multimode switch for several modes, not just two: normal, union, subtract (eraser), and cut (knife). This will need toolbar toggles and Shift+letter shortcuts similar to what other tools use.

Sorry. For some reason I believed caps lock should work similar to shift. I reverted the change so that the feature can be further discussed. As for caps lock, I believe users think of it as providing the same functionality as the shift key (which it usually does :)), only that it needn't be pressed all the time. Thus IMHO the request above makes perfect sense.

Well... capslock may interfere with something else. So, the feature is good, but how to implement... discussion is needed.
