Bug Description

I have tried installing Inkscape 0.92.2 both from the .dmg provided at inkscape.org and with homebrew using "brew cask install inkscape". Both installations appear to succeed but Inkscape fails to launch. I get the following in console:

>Emergency save activated!
>Emergency save completed. Inkscape will close now.
>If you can reproduce this crash, please file a bug at www.inkscape.org
>with a detailed description of the steps leading to the crash, so we can fix it.
>WARNING: Requested update while update in progress, counter = 2

The last line repeats at least a hundred times and is then followed by multiple variations of:

>(inkscape-bin:70067): Gtk-WARNING **: EditSelectAllInAllLayers: missing action EditSelectAllInAllLayers

Here is a gist of the entire console output: https://gist.github.com/joonashak/8bd29a08dfb0fa4d7e00bbced39cce60

I also get an error dialog in XQuartz showing only boxes in place of characters: https://i.imgur.com/sEQvAyG.png

Clicking the button in the dialog results in "Segmentation fault: 11" being output to console and Inkscape exiting (based on console, no windows visible at any time except for the error dialog). XQuartz is left running.

I'm seeing this as well. Get the same result with "brew install inkscape" in addition to the installation methods described above. OSX 10.13.6.

If this is still happening, the next step would be to collect a full backtrace on the crash.

Also, better steps to reproduce the problem might help - many people are able to install and run Inkscape 0.92.2 on OSX, so there must be more involved in triggering this crash. The heat on this bug is only 3, so it seems not to be a widespread issue.
