Bug Description

In the export panel, there really is no need for the export button. A much cleaner way to do this would be to move the "page", "drawing", "Selection", and "Custom" buttons down to the bottom under the new header "export". This way if when you press the page button you simply export a page to whatever file location you have set. Attached is a mock-up of what I am talking about.

you are ignoring the fact that the parameters x0, y0, x1, y1, Width, and Height all depend on which choice was made concerning export size. Even the default filename depends on whether you choose "Drawing" or "Selection".
The normal usage would be to first choose option 'Custom', for example, then choose image size (or possibly dpi in order to see if the file size will be acceptable), then choose "Export". Your proposal would not allow this kind of workflow.

My proposal does not ignore any of that. If you were to change the x0, y0, x1,y1, width or height and then click on custom then you would export whatever was in that custom range. If you want to export the page you just click on page. If you want to export the whole drawing you click drawing. If something is selected and you want to export it, selection would then be available for you to be clicked.

Which is something I did not realize when I first posted this. the selection button should be disabled if you have nothing selected and enabled when you select something.

My proposal does not affect how the file is named. Even though I have no idea why the file would change the way it does. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. If you select Page, Drawing, or Custom the file name could still remain whatever the file name is. If you select an object and then click Selection the file name could be changed to whatever is selected like it is now.

Nothing really changes except for the fact that when you go to hit the export button you know exactly what you are about to export because you get to explicitly say I want to export the page. instead of having to check to make sure custom is not selected first. Want to export the page? just click page button and a png will be exported with the contents of the page to whatever location you selected in file path.

Andrew, I would suggest you join the UX team in Inkscape's chat channel to discuss this issue further. There have been suggestions made that will finally get rid of those number entry fields whose most obvious purpose is to confuse users.
