Bug Description
I am using a Wacom Bamboo tablet with the latest drivers under windows vista ultimate. No issues in any applications except Inkscape.
What happens is it will work perfectly for a few minutes then suddenly stop drawing in Inkscape even though inkscape's status window will change and respond when I place the pen on the tablet i.e. "Creating a new path" etc however moving the pen causes nothing to happen.
Restarting inkscape always solves the problem. Sometimes using the mouse a bit here and there seems to clear up the problem though my mouse is completely independant of the tablet on a different usb port.
I can make this happen in any drawing even a new blank canvass within a couple of minutes just by drawing with the pencil tool. Interestingly the calligraphy tool has yet to cause this to happen, I doodled for half an hour with it with no issues, only the pencil tool so far.
I don't know if this is related but I can reproduce more quickly if I zoom in all the way in a drawing then start drawing with the pencil.
I've tried it with Inkscape 0.45.1 and also with inkscape 0.46 - no difference same flakiness.

Heard that this is a problem from GTK+ as Gimp shares the same exact problem, unfortunately.
bug is here http:// bugzilla. gnome.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 496958
apparently win tab which GTK+ uses for tablets is embroiled in a legal battle, and chances are the Bamboo in particular may not even use the wintab api, which may explain why running gimp with the --no-wintab flag fixes it, but no pressure sensitivity.
