Bug Description

STEPS TO REPLICATE:

1. Begin editing text in a document
2. Change text to a font that supports emoji. I used Google Noto Emoji Color.
3. Insert supported emojis (Text -> Glyphs)
4. Watch the madness

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

Emojis appear correctly in the "Text and Font" dialog box and in the document. Alternatively, if a font does not support that emoji (or any unicode character), both the dialog and the document window should show the same failure (e.g. alternate characters, the empty white "tofu" rectangle).

OBSERVED BEHAVIOR:

Emojis appear correctly in the "Text and Font" dialog box but not in the document itself.

SYSTEM DETAILS:

Fedora 28
Inkscape 0.92.3 (2405546, 2018-03-11)
The font at issue installed using the system package manager (dnf).
