Grouping items breaks connections

Bug Description

Version: Inkscape 0.92.3
OS: Windows 10 64 bit

Creating a group moves the group and all items in it to the end of the XML file (as seen in XML editor).

It seems that path connections only recognize items in the XML file that appear before the connection path.

This results in items that are grouped losing all connections.

Work-around: use the XML editor to move all connection paths after the objects to which they refer.

OK, my diagnosis is wrong. I am not sure what breaks the links. Moving the paths to the end of the XML does fix the links, tho sometimes the actual link ID is also lost and must be recreated.
