Bug Description

The product codes for the Windows Installer Package in msi-format are identical. I have tested the msi files for 32-bit and 64-bit in the versions 0.92.2 and 0.92.1. All have the product code {81922150-317E-4BB0-A31D-FF1C14F707C5}.

A msi file should have an unique product code, so the windows installer can recognize if the software is already installed.

If I launch inkscape-0.92.2-x64.msi, I get the error message: "Eine weitere Version dieses Produkts ist bereits installiert." (Another version of this product is already installed.) But in fact version 0.92.0 is installed.

Hi Alexander, thanks for the report!

This particular issue is already tracked in bug #1653574 and the installer is currently re-using the same product code "by design" to prevent update issues.

It's all but ideal but we're currently a bit understaffed in the Windows department and even more so with respect to the MSI installer, so if you are familiar with the MSI format you're more than welcome to help us out here.
