Bug Description
A lot of artists I know use Flash for inking - in particular because Flash
allows you to draw ink lines, and then delete the sections that extend past
existing lines. (the trim is done automatically or on the fly - but the
sections are not deleted until the user manually does so) Offering that as
an option in Inkscape, either as a boolean, or as an option when using the
drawing tools on an existing object would be great.
For calligraphy-paths, this is the equivalent of taking each pair of paths,
and doing Division in one direction, Difference in the other. For stroked
paths (pencil tool), it's simply cut path in each direction.
Granted, I know I could do that manually, but since it has to be done
recursively with each path in a drawing that may have dozens to hundreds,
it's a bit of a pain. (Pair. Copy. Cut path. Hide path. Paste in place.
Reverse order. Cut path. Show hidden path. Combine all pieces. Select the
next path with this first multi-segment object. Repeat.)
