Bug Description

There is a need to edit Google Earth paths and polygons.

Is the file format and open and _documented_?
Ideally is there an existing library to help generate files in this
format?

Reverse engineering file formats is incredibly time consuming and
extremely unlikely to happen in all but a few of the most prolific file
formats.

External developers interested in working on this would of course be
welcome to contribute but just be aware it is highly unlikely to happen
otherwise.

And just as additinal information:
KDE Marble and Google Earth are able to im- and export KML/KMZ files.
DigiKam and darktable have KML/KMZ exports for images with GPS informations.
