Bug Description

Hello, I use inkscape a lot to vectorize manualy drawings and photos, and
I´ve noticed that it would be good to change the visualization mode of
layers individualy to do not affect to bitmaps that appear as a big x.

Thanks. And keep the good work, inkscape is better than the expensive
commercial software for some basic and common tasks.

I suggested this feature as well. I would love to see it implemented.

I would also like to see an option to view individual layers in wireframe mode, not because of bitmap images (as in the original submitter's case), but because of the complexity of my drawings.

I have a couple of drawings that redraw very slowly, due in part (I think) to the use of blur on several objects. I can switch the whole drawing to wireframe ("outline") mode, which speeds everything up, but makes it much harder to distinguish objects from one another.

In practice I just need to switch _some_ of my objects to wireframe mode. For my purposes, being able to switch individual layers to wireframe mode would let me achieve this.
