Bug Description
Patterns are extremely important when drawing diagrams for b&w-prints. For
the most essential patterns (stripes, dots, crosshatch) a generator would
be nice, that allows the user to quickly choose:
- colors (foreground/
- size(width) of line/dot
- spacing
- orientation
I'm pretty sure it would be fairly easy to implement, and it would cover a
basic necessity plus save newbies a lot of trouble and stress.
thanks for the awesome tool. I LOVE inkscape.
cheers

This hasn't been implemented yet, because a) there is no renderer which
properly antialiases fine patterns and b) Inkscape's pattern rendering
produces seams (so stripes/crosshatch are clearly a no-no).
It sort of works if you export at very high DPI and print it (seams become
invisible and lack of antialiasing is hard to notice) or if it's
downsampled afterwards.
