Make space drop a clone instead of a copy

Bug Description

I'd like an option to change the behavior of "space" when I move an object
over the canvas with the mouse: Instead of dropping a copy, I'd like to
have a clone.

Ideally, there should be a prefs setting to select between clone and copy.
And it should be possible to switch between the two while dragging using
Caps Lock.

Being able to drop clones like this sounds like a good idea. Using
capslock might be a bit weird tho. How about 'c' for clones?
