Bug Description

A method in which a shape can be drawn over an area, and only inside will
things be rendered. One good idea suggested is to preserve the outlines
outside of this area. This is akin to a slice when 3d modelling, where the
nodes are hidden/not rendered, allowing you to zoom in and editing what you
want without being burdened by processing uneccesary areas. This is
distinct from layers, which don't make sense for things in which there are
objects in the layer that go beyond the scope of what you want to edit.
This is especially important in layered images with multiple filters (
realism or painting, which may need to be scaled or may still need the
benefits of vector ), in where it takes a toll to display but you still
need to preserve the entire look of the working area in order to edit it.
Otherwise-- the only way to work productively is to resize the application
itself, and often, rather than keeping it maximised or larger akin to a
regular workflow.
