Measure Area of irregular shapes

I have developed the program into a very functional landscape design
program, and use it in my business every day. Since the program will scale
lines in inches, I can scale my drawings, and manually 'takeoff' area from
the print. One extra feature would be to estimate area [in sq. in.] of
various shapes/objects when selected in units [sq.in.].

PS: No other landscape design program gives you the ability to "draw" like
inkscape. "Eye> Brain> Hand connection is important to designers and
artists! I can't imagine using anything else.!

Thanks, yes that would be a wonderful feature. We'll keep it on our wishlist until we have a solution for it.
