Text tool, revert line spacing as before - wishlist

Bug Description

Hi Friends,
I don't really understand why line spacing was changed with all the other changes to the Text tool recently. But I'm finding it entirely annoying to have to set the line spacing every time I use the Text tool.

Could you put it back like it was before, when the line spacing was automatically set, depending on the text size? And still have it adjustable, for people who want some custom arrangement?

Thank you very much :-)

Hi, line spacing should be set as a multiplier of the font size by default. Is this not the case, or is there a problem with the way this is one?

In versions before 0.92, there was no option to set the line spacing. (Try using version 0.91, if you're curious.) The line spacing was automatically set, I assume relative to the font size, although I don't really know how it was accomplished.

See the Line Spacing section of this page, for more info: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.92#Text I should say that I don't understand much of that, but it would probably help you to understand it.

My problem now, is that every single time I use the Text tool, if I'm going to be making more than one line of text, I have to set the line spacing. I don't understand why this should be necessary. I don't know any other program which requires the user to set the line height.

Whatever new and fancy kind of feature this is, at least make it optional, so that people who don't need it, don't have to bother with setting it.

(It probably wouldn't be half as annoying, if it didn't have a bug. But even when the bug is fixed, it's still a pain to have to set it. I would wish for it to be optional, thus "wishlist" in the title.)

Aah, I finally learned the trick to making it work.

Will not migrate. Closing now.
