Enhancement: Import filter/translator for Valentina/Seamly 2D files

The open source pattern drafting software Valentina https://valentina-project.org/ continues to develop.

This long term request would be for a an import filter for the relevant file format in Inkscape, ideally developed alongside the source tool, with co-operation between Inkscape and Valentina developers.

The file format seems to .VAL (for the pattern file) and .vit (for measurement data)

There are some sample files mentioned here (in respect of hat making which uses some so called custom measurements) :-

Ideally the import filter dialog would need to provide a means to :
* select an alternate measures file.
* Select if the pattern "block" or derived peices was what was to be imported.
* Provide a scaling factor when importing pattern pieces.

Importing a pattern block would be as a group object (i.e the entirety of a patterns blocks would be in a group. Valentina pattern blocks also have their own grouping hierarchy which could also be translated.)

Importing pattern pieces would be as a single group for one layout, but with each piece/detail being it's own group in a hierarchy below this.

I am willing to discuss further, if there's interest.
