Bug Description
When configuring inkscape on Debian (Sarge), I get
error messages like this:
checking for INKSCAPE... configure: error: Package
requirements (gdkmm-2.4 glibmm-2.4 gtkmm-2.4
gtk+-2.0 >= 2.4.0 libxml-2.0 >= 2.6.11 libxslt >=
1.0.15 sigc++-2.0 >= 2.0.11 gtkspell-2.0 gthread-2.0
>= 2.0) were not met.
Unfortunately, this information is quite unspecific as
it doen't say what packages actuelly lack. E.g., both
libgtkmm-2.4-1 and libgtkmm-2.4-dev are installed on my
system though 'gtkmm-2.4' appears in above message. It
would be helpful if configure compained only about
software which really misses.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Inkscape better.
You reported this bug a long while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently.
We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Inkscape release?
Thanks in advance
