Web-linked images

Bug Description

Ability to add linked-images which are hosted on web
servers. Right now the only way I can find to do it,
is to add a local placeholder image, and then edit the
XML information in notepad to the server address. Even
if they didn't show up in Inkscape, if you could at
least specify it easily, that would help. For some
reason if you add a local file and replace it's
location with a web-linked address in "Image
Properties" it doesn't work.

Please try not to file anonymous requests. instead please

information if necessary.

Please also try checking through existing request to avoid
filing duplicate reports.

I think this request would probably be covered by full
support for XLINK referenced images but having a seperate
request for linking to web images specifically might be
acceptable so I will leave this report open for now.
(If I do not get any followup information or contact details
I may be forced to assume no one is paying attention to this
request and be forced to close it.)

Be nice, only link to your own images. Hotlinking is not
very friendly.
