Inkscape import ODG (Open Office Draw Document)

Request for Inscape to import ODG files

ODG (Open Office Draw) export functionality is
supported in version .44 and it would be great if
import of ODG files could be supported too.

If export is being done, it would seem not to hard to
create an import feature as well.

Hi, i m a user of illustrator but i don t want to still been
anymore,i ve working on inkscape and i think is great, but
in the text is not so good, because is not so complete like
illustrator or corel, like convert to curves, text columns
and that kind of things, or i don t find them. Well, sorry

I would not make any assumptions about the difficulty but if
it is easy then certainly patches welcome and I'm sure the
developer would appreciate your help.

Importing is often a lot harder than exporting. Exporting
needs to put out a file one way and follow the standard as
strictly as possible, whereas importing needs to deal with
files which have been exported in various different ways and
may not have strictly followed the standards (and that is in
cases where you have well written standards).

You might want to get in touch with the developer and offer
to help or sponsor the work or perhaps even help test the
feature using the latest unstable builds.

Also please make sure there are not already
existing/duplicate reports requesting this feature.

Please do try to put future reports in the relevant
categories.
