medial-axis or centerline

Provide a plugin extension for generating the
medial-axis (or centerline) of an object. I am willing
to help with this amd alread a sourceforge developer.

existing extensions as the model, and write to the devel
list for help if you need it.

long time ago it's not made. As i would like to come back in scripting with the new python possibilities i could try this, but i'm only wondering if a LPE would not be better for this.

If Bug #170537 is solved, this bug will be solved. Autotrace support is all that is needed.

Unfortunately LP doesn't seem to provide support for bug dependencies so I can't mark that bug as such. (If I'm missing something then someone please mark Bug #170537 as a dependency of this bug if appropriate.)

Duplicate status of Bug #170537 reverted - these are different feature requests:
Bug #170537 is about tracing (vectorizing) raster graphics,
Bug #171414 is about "tracing" vector objects i.e. reverting a 'Stroke to Path' operation (see also duplicate bug #228522).
