Bug Description
Currently the ruler live path effect, allows the generation of index marks at major/minor subdivisions along a given path.
It would be helpful if a relevant Live Path effect (or if not feasible a "Draw puesdeo-scale" add-on was extended to show/render index numerals at such major/minor subdivisions, in a user specified style.
In it's simplest form this would be the 1,2,3 rational number sequence at major divisions appropriate to the units set selected.
In a more complex use case a user may want to render major subdivisions as 1,2,3 in a large font, whilst have the smaller subdivisions labelled as 1.1 , 1.2, 1.3 etc, (for metric values), or 1 1/4, 1 2/2 1 3/4 etc, (for in, pt) etc... It may also be advised to consider if being able to render a scale that could be divided into a Major subdivision containing 60 minor subdivisions would be advantageous. I.e 1° 1° 1', 1° 2' 1°3' 1°4' etc, (which may be useful in using Inkscape to map certain survey data for example.)
Another possible extension would for 'circular' arc paths (it cannot be done in a trival way for elipitical arcs and would be nonsensical for bezier curves), would be to provide a 'polar' ruler using a relevant arc scale.
With such an update/extension rendering a scaled protractor would take about 5 steps rather than the repetitive manual process of cloning, and marking each degree turn on a path indvidually.
A really advanced version would allow for a fully user specified index label sequence, but that may be something better suited to a dedicated charting extension.
