Bug Description
Sometimes, when I want to precisely position shapes and
nodes, I create an irregular grid of guides at the
appropriate intervals. If I later move the shape to a
new location, it no longer lines up with the guides
that were used to create it. If I then need to tweak
the shape against its guides, it's inconvenient to
re-align it with the guides.
I can see a couple ways that might make this easier:
1) Allow guides to be created relative to a base shape
(or group). Then, if the shape moves, the guides move
with it. Such a scheme would also make it easy to
selectively show/hide certain guides, because the
guides would be grouped in a natural way.
2) Allow guides to be multi-selected and allow the
*guide* to snap to the object's bounding box/nodes.
Note that I'm suggesting the reverse of how snapping
normally works--the user would be moving the guides,
and they would try to snap to parts of the objects,
allowing them to be perfectly realigned with an object
that has moved. It would also be nice to be able to
multi-select guides in order to get rid of them quickly
(manually dragging them off the canvas one by one is
tedious).

It's also be interesting to modify the selection of guide to
be more easy. Some time I work with a touchPad and it's not
so easy to pickup the guide.
Take a look of GIMP guides.
