Customization for widescreen

Widescreen is growing, specially in laptops. It has
pros and cons.

Could it be possible to allow toolbars and windows to
be customized to rearrange in vertical way to optimize
workspace in widescreen computers?

I think you just want dockable palettes, right? :)

This is in roadmap and will be implemented after
gtkmmfication will be done.

P.S. I'm a ASUS M6N with a 16:10 ratio display user myself ;)

A "Wide" view has been added. Support will expand a bit more later, but for 0.48 two of the three toolbars on the top can now be flipped over to the side. (The last one is really a collection of 12 custom toolbars that all need to be retrofitted to function vertically).

For eeepc users changing the gtk icon sizes is a solution. (see attached image 1024x600)
Maybe should be possible to change them in inkscape itself?
