a way to link color channels

1. An option to link color channels. For example, I
could link my Red and my Green channels, so that
changes to one also effect the other.

2. A 'swatches' pallette/widget/dialog. This would
allow saving of a color (currently selected color) and
loading of previously saved colors. A list of saved
swatches (grayed out, or absent if the original swatch
was created in a different color mode?) could possibly
be located beneath the 'Get from dropper' option, or
under the channel bars in each color mode tab. Other
desireable options would include editing the swatch
list (add, delete, rename, duplicate), and possibly
conversion between color modes where the color gamuts
overlap.

A similar swatches list could be used to
remember/recall gradients as well. And linking could
also be useful in other contexts.

What I don't understand here: Do we have color channels in
Inkscape?
I know those from pixel editing, where it makes a lotta sense.

Well, they're not really channels in the sense of The GIMP
or Photoshop. ie., they're not editable. What I mean is
that when selecting a colour, there are 4 "channels" in RGB,
and HSV modes: R, G, B, (or H, S, V) and Alpha, and 5 in
CMYK. I used the word channel because I couldn't think of a
better one.
