Bug Description

Opening big files can take some time. So the user's
neads a visual feedback about the process.

Yeah, you're right, unfortunately it isn't as easy as just
adding in the progress bar. We need a more systematic
solution. I'm not quite sure how to do this yet...

I'm going to go ahead and assign the bug to me, but if
anyone has any good ideas on implementing this -- I'm very
open to them.

Also on this... loading large files from the command line (inkscape
x.svg) can be very uninformative. It'll just sit there, without
displaying
a gui, and you could even forget it's running. How about opening the
window, and THEN loading the file?

Ted, art you still interested in fixing this bug? If not I'll remove the assignment.

I'm still interested, but I haven't figured out a good way to do it yet. The reality is that we don't have the information that we'd need. I'm not sure how to synthesize it.

So, I'll remove me, and put down that I'm willing to help mentor :)
