Bug Description

Hi,
when the grid origin is changed to a non-zero value, rulers are adjusted to
show the new coordinates. However, the position X and Y of an object is
still counted from the page origin, resulting in a quite confusing
situation. For example, set the grid origin to X=50, Y=50. Then draw a
rectangle and set its position to X=200, Y=600: the rectangle is in fact
positioned at X=150, Y=550 according to rulers.

Another inconvenience (though not a bug) is that object positions are
always defined from the bottom-left extremety of the object. In some cases,
for example for a circle, it would be more convenient to define the
position of the center of the object. It would thus be good to have the
option to choose which extremity or center will be used to define the
position of objects (possible in CorelDraw).

Hi, The ability to change the document origin coordinates was never really properly implemented, and has been removed for 0.46 (see bug 168831 for rationale). The request for different reference points for objects is covered at bug 170674 Marking this one as a dupe of 168831 just for record-keeping

Scratch that: bug 170347 is a better match for the dupe...
