Bug Description

If I try to fit the page size to the attached svg it gets calculated
wrong.

On the commandline the assertions

(inkscape:9436): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_tree_model_iter_nth_child: assertion
`n >= 0' failed

are shown 4 times. I am using Inkscape 0.45 with Ubuntu 7.04.

using autopackage and win32 dev builds this feature works for me. Specifically on this machine using "Inkscape 0.45+devel, built Dec 23 2007" (autopackage version) on Slackware 12 this works exactly as expected.

Try a more recent build?

Could you please re-attach the offending svg?--it doesn't seem to be in the tracker right now.

Oh, sorry--I'm used to seeing attachments in the comments, and still getting used to launchpad.

I also don't get the error in a recent SVN build (16895 12/31/07) under linux. I tried the following:
-open the file and immediately fit page to selection
-select all and fit page to selection
-select just one of the 2 quarter-circles and fit page to selection

The fitting operation doesn't work well (but that can be fixed by removing the viewbox element), but I never get that error message.

Does anything else bad happen, like the program freezing? Or do you just get the error messages?

I also try the command, on Inkscape 0.46.
It doesn't work.
It is also impossible to change the size of the page.

Compiled from tar.gz archive, on a mandriva.

I've got the same problem with 0.46 for Mac X11.

In some files it worked fine - but when things get more complicated, it fails.

Greetings,

Wolf

confirmed with 0.48.1 and current trunk for selection of file attached in #0, there is a wrong translation somewhere

fitting the page to the content (without selection) works for me
the file from #6 works for me

Reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape trunk revision 12511.

Note that it works correctly when I apply the fit page size to selection command twice.
