Bug Description
To reproduce the behaviour you could try the following steps:
- I creae a textbox.
- It uses "Bitstream Vera Sans" as default font.
- I set that to a font I'd like to have like "Tahoma"
- Then I add another textbox.
- This textbox is also ceated with "Bitstream Vera Sans".
- If I try to set that textbox to "Tahoma" I cannot do it - "Tahoma" is
acitve in the Listview, but I cannot select it. I can, however, select any
other font.
Probably this behaviour comes from the fact that I have the Bitstream font
*not* installed on my system. I guess you could repeat this also with other
fonts than Bitstream.
Has this to do with "default font used"?
... regards Willi.

This sounds very much like a duplicate of bug 168320. Having a non-installed font as your default font causes numerous problems with the text toolbar. You can also trigger this bug by opening a document containing references to a font you don't have installed.
A workaround is to use the 'Text and Font' dialog to set font name and size. (Ctrl-Shift-T)
