Large PNG image import fails.

Importing a large PNG image into Inkscape 0.45 causes the image to display
in an awkward way. The source image is 1371 x 1660 Pixels (2.28 MPixels)
2.38 MB (2,493,041 Bytes) PNG - ZIP
This relates to this version only - I was working with this file just a
minute ago and it was OK (in Inkscape 0.44). This seems to be a memory
problem. Attached screenshot.

I think it is a ZIP decompression problem because I have just converted
this image to a PNG with different compression level and it shows OK - It
is the same file but is now 6.52 MB (6,840,365 Bytes).

Same for me with Inkscape 0.45.
The picture loads fine if the compression level is reduced.

As for the import of PNG which includes byte array of "0A 0D"(LF+CR) it
seems that fails.

I encountered the problem many times using Inkscape 0.45.1. In fact I use it to illustrate screenshots captured with SnagIt, a screen capture tool. Dragging and dropping the capture in Inkscape result in a "negative image with glitches", see the attached screenshot. To fix the problem I open it in IrfanView, a graphics viewer, and save it as a new PNG image.

Same image but saved using IrfanView. Note that both images are 1000x1946 large and zipped PNG. The original is 64,157 bytes large when the saved one is 57,873 large.

I have just tested on Win32 with 0.47 nightly build from June 20 2009, and this bug is still present. Please have a look at the attachment.
