What about a hackish way:
increase 1 order the precision
1/32->1/1024px (or even further).
At the same time, leave only 3 decimal places available to a user (0,001 px) and leave max. zoom at 25600%.
Then, nobody will notice even if the operations are imprecise.
Also, is it possible to implement a per-document grid size (for ex. to adjust the grid step at the documents properties)?
