font-size units can't be changed

In the font properties dialog, there is no way to set the units for
font-size. The default unit seems to be in pixels, but that is neither
shown nor to be altered.

This is quite annoying, since many users want to specify font-sizes in "pt"
also.

In the XML dialog any given font-size in "pt" is converted to "px", which
is not the expected behaviour.

I've recognized the same problem. If you change xml-tree by hand from 'px'
to 'pt' inksape recalculates the fontsize immediately to 'px' again.

Are you asking for something like the text-tool Tool in Gimp? and its
various Units widget? Essentially, I would think
it involves converting the various units to the pixels or something?

I'm changing it to confirmed, because it is a "bug" that happens in all builds for all platforms.

I think the right way would be as in Stroke Width dialog, where it proposes different units (pt, px...) and when you change the unit in the combo box, value is recalculated in the good unit.

Sorry, that was an erroneous dupe. The discussion at bug 170009 had veered off onto other subjects. I've now tried to consolidate all the various dupes of this issue at bug 168164.
