TTF Balloon font not displayed correctly

I use Inkscape Version 0.44. The True Type Font
Balloon (BL______.TTF) doesn't work correctly. No
characters appear, but several dots and squares, all
one above the other.

It is a known issue that the usage of some fonts results in
problems as the fonts containing some "errors" where windows
has workarounds but not pango. I guess you are running windows?

Could you check the licence of your font and if possible
attach that fontfile here?

Adib, which build you used for screenshot? There was a fix in SVN that
might have fixed this, a couple days ago.

I tested the font in all the programs I have (Indesign CS, CorelDraw 12,
Quark 5, Illustrator 10) and it looks good. Also, I sent it to a font
designer friend. He said that the font seems OK (no malformation of the TTF
file or other errors).

With today's Inkscape0703180429 I see the same behaviour as in the posted
screenshot.

cyreve, can you please have a look at this font? it seems to work properly
on linux only but not on windows

Dropping priority since it is evidently a Windows-specific problem with just one particular font, so is not truly release critical.

Works for me using a win32 build built from svn trunk on 2009-04-23.

Reproduced on Vista, Inkscape 0.45.1, but fixed in 0.46 (and still works with 0.48).
