Bug Description
1. Check/Enable Inkscape
Preferences.
2. Create some object, keep it selected.
3. RMB on Object -> Object Properties. Check Taskbar.
Dialog is not shown.
4. RMB, Create Link.
5. RMB, Link Properties => Dialog «Link attributes».
Bug: «Link attributes» is shown in taskbar.

Also affects the "Image Properties" dialog, but not the "Object Properties".

Related issue, launching the "Link Attributes" dialog when one is already open creates a new instance...

The link attributes dialog code is completely rewritten in revision 10910. Can you check whether the bug is still present?

Fix confirmed on Windows XP, Inkscape revision 10923.

Confirmed on Ubuntu Linux. Looks like the Link Properties dialog doesn't obey the preferences setting.
