EPS export: BoundingBox crops image (rounding issue?)

Bug Description

The BoundingBox of EPS files is a bit too small so that
the outer lines are thinner than the inner lines
although they have the same thinkness. It's about 1/2
pt, so maybe a rounding error.

I use epstopdf (from teTeX) to convert EPS to PDF and
include them in LaTeX, and then it's recognizable in
the printing.

This seems to be a pretty old bug report - can anyone confirm it?
