Bug Description

Hello,

I have a Type1 font called Garamond which is properly
installed on my system

$ fc-list |grep Garamond
Garamond:style=Regular
Garamond:style=BoldItalic
Garamond:style=Italic
Garamond:style=Bold

Fontconfig is 2.2.99.20050218 (SuSE 9.3), Gtk is 2.6.4
(SuSE 9.3).

The problem in Inkscape is, that BoldItalic style is
available but doesn't work (it shows the Bold style
instead). The problem does not exist in the stock Gtk
font choosing dialog or in other applications (like
Scribus).

The font is non-free so I cannot post it in this bug
tracker. If a developer needs the font for testing, I
think I can send you the font in a private email. It's
from SoftMaker CDs (I think this company is only known
in Germany).

The bug is still present after upgrading to SUSE 10.0 with
different versions of gtk, fontconfig and freetype.
