Fill and Stroke dialog takes too long to appear

When I click the fill and stroke button on the toolbar,
there is a delay of about two seconds before the dialog
shows up. This is acceptable the first time, but the
next time it should open instantly. We should not be
recreating the dialog; it should be hidden and redisplayed.

Epiphany gets this right: The bookmarks and history
windows open slowly the first time but quickly the next
time.

no one can confirm this behaviour. if it is from icon
rendering then it's fixed by now. Anyway, which version was
that on which system, and can you please try a new version?

I am reopening this report. It takes really long time to draw Fill & Stroke dialog. This issue concerns Text and Fonts dialog as well.

I encountered this problem on windows XP with inkscape r11570 build from truk. A haven't tested other platforms.

Still happening: Inkscape 0.92.1 r15371 & Windows 8.1.

Can't reproduce this on Ubuntu in Inkscape 1.0alpha. please close if this isn't happening in Windows anymore.

Not reproduced in 0.92.4 and 1.1-dev (6b4d57f, 2020-04-01) on Windows 10. F&S opens instantly.
