Bug Description
Inkscape 0.92.0 r15299, Windows 7
a) open new document
b) Hit F8, click/ drag to create text box
c) Enter a couple dozen words of text (e.g. "Now is the time for..."
d) Ctrl-A to select all the text
d) Now resize the text box by click/dragging the lower-right handle of the text box
As you drag, when the text box gets too small to contain the text, some text at the end of the string will be clipped from view, as expected. However, the selection will also be changed to only include visible text. As you continue to drag and expand the box back out, the formerly clipped text will reappear -- but it will not be selected.
IOW, just shrinking the text box to a small size and then back to its original size in a single click&drag operation will have the unhelpful side-effect of changing the range of the text selection.
Thanks for taking the time to file report!
Bug confirmed on Windows XP (32-bit), lp:inkscape/0.92.x rev. 15364.
