I punched inkscape into terminal from within XQuartz and the inkscape 92 window showed up.
Now the language is foreign. How to get the English language.
Maybe that I should file a new bug

Hi iglooo101,

can you have a look at the issues for macports? Maybe the problems you describe are already in their system.

The macport Inkscape version is maintained by them, and they have asked that people who have problems with it report them there (from a mail to the Inkscape developer mailing list):

"Let me know if you have any questions, issues or comments or you can file a ticket at https://trac.macports.org/"

(maybe you're on Sierra? I think it's known to crash there)
