Bug Description

With the LPE 'Fill between strokes', when I apply a stroke attribute to the container path, the specified stroke shows up only at one end of the filled area. To illustrate what I mean, I've attached an SVG file. I expected the red line to show up at both the top and the bottom of the yellow area but it's only at the bottom. When I did something similar with 'Fill between many', it acted as I expected with the container stroke attribute showing up at all of the fill-area boundaries where there was no explicit stroke.
This is under Windows with Inkscape 0.92.0 r15299.

Since I could only attach a single file to my bug report, here is a PNG file exported from my previous SVG attachment, illustrating the behaviour that I observe.

IIRC this is how the effect was designed - it connects the end node of one path with the start node of the second path. It does not aim to produce a filled shape with a fully closed stroke around it.

The path effect by the way was backported from the Ponyscape fork. This journal entry mentions its initial implementation:
«Added "Fill-Between-Strokes" path effect. This allows you to create a fill between 1 or 2 strokes. I've replaced the "Clone original path (LPE)" menu item with "Fill between strokes (LPE)" as this new path effect does exactly the same thing when only one stroke is selected (I added this as a new effect to keep backwards compatability with Inkscape).»

It also shows the same behavior (connected end of first with start of second path in the last Ponyscape release that was available (just tested with archived build)

Ah. OK. Thank you for checking into this, and sorry for reporting a nonbug.
This is actually a useful feature because now both behaviours are available: a stroke at one end with 'Fill between strokes', or strokes at both ends with 'Fill between many'.

One could imagine that the path effect 'Fill between strokes' could be extended with an additional option in the dialog to connect the other two end nodes as well to allow a continuous stroke around the fill (the fill is the topic of the effect, per its name), if this is considered a useful enhancement for the effect (both added connecting segments would be straight lines).

@Jabiertxof - any thoughts?

@su_v: whath milestone 0.93 or 0.92.1? 0.92.1 is on feature freeze.

@Jabiertxof: I would propose 0.93 (new feature).
