Bug Description

Would make a lot more sense, since the options of the right pane are far more used that the top ones. Maybe adapting a concept like LibreOffice MUFFIN (four different bar layouts for different user and screen format styles) would also make a lot sense!

Frank, do the options at the bottom of the 'View' menu help?

If not, can you make a mockup of what you would imagine?

Sorry for the delay. I mean for example, that it would make more sense, to put some often used actions, which are currently in the right toolbar, in the top toolbar. Like "new file", "open file", "print", "revert", "redo", "copy", "cut".

But I have a hi-DPI screen (of which I've forgotten about) with too small icons and thereby plenty of space remaining in the top bar, so maybe this isn't a good idea for users with limited screen space and/or who are accustomed to keyboard shortcuts.

Because of Inkscape using several toolbars and sidepane-settings, like LibreOffice, I thought, an approach like their new Muffin concept would be interesting. But I reconcidered this and think that this seems not to be beneficial.

Frank, a customizable interface is a feature that many people request.
It's not unusual to ask for it :)

It will not happen in the Inkscape 0.92 series.

But it might become possible after 0.93, when Inkscape works with GTK3 instead of GTK2, which seems to allow a more flexible way to define the interface. It's not in the Roadmap, though (unless it's somehow comprised in the UI changes in 1.1).

At least, GTK3 is supposed to work better with hidpi screens, and this will be in 0.93.
