@Frank: Can you describe what you mean by 'constant stroke'? (you can also use the German term, I'll translate, if needed).

Please also indicate:
- Inkscape version
- Operating system

Sadly, I now can't do a screencast, don't know what's up with Fedora at the moment…

I attached a file with a constant stroke line (konstante Strichstärke). When you try to alter the with, then the actual width doesn't get altered, but the line gets replaced be half the distance, you drag the mouse.

Sorry, happens with Inkscape 0.91 and 0.92, and I'm running Fedora 25.

Yes, I see, the line shouldn't move but stay in place and not change at all.

But this seems to be a very special corner case, as you're basically trying to change the line width of a horizontal line by dragging on the (height) rescale handles with the selection tool. And you're doing this with the line width set to 'don't scale'...

I don't think this case was considered when the code was written, it's quite unusual :)

Ok, thanks! But I just found out another issue: Drawing an "L" and rescaling it results in a change of thickness. I assume this is due to the two lines being converted to a polygon(?) and so the thickness requirement isn't applicable anymore? Would it be possible to e.g. not connect the lines, so that they don't alter their thickness when being transformed?

Works as expected, for me. The path is still a stroked path, the scaling of the line width depends on the setting that was set by the button the mouse cursor hovers over in the attached screenshot.

You need to let go of the mouse button to see the final result.

No problem. Just explaining how it works to someone who didn't know yet :) There are people who get an email for every comment we write here, and we should filter well before we post (and I know I'm not too good at that, either... sorry guys...).
