Can't use the palettes in second open drawing window

I can open a drawing and work on it no problem. If I then open a second drawing window I can use the tools ok, but if I try and do a fill/stroke the first window pops back into the screen. Even if a cllick of any selected items from the first drawing and close the fill/stroke palette. When I opn the fill/stroke again in the 2nd drawing the original window still pops back up.

Could you please give details on your operating system and Inkscape version (I guess from your other report that it's 0.91, but please confirm)?
