Bug Description

Hi,

I use the service Gravit (gravit.io) to make SVG, and then I open them on Inkscape to print it to our laser cutting machine.

The problem is that on opening the file, several display problems occur. It seem that it is a problem with Inkscape, because if I open the file from Chrome or a online SVG viewer, I get something good.

Internet Explorer seems to make another error.

I added the file on attachement so you can see yourself. To me, the problem is the SVG protocol.

Thanks!

attached is a screenshot comparing the IE11 display (top) to the Inkscape result(bottom). The Inkscape result was shrunk to make it fit, so the edges look a bit rough, ignore that.

Hi,

Gravit confirms that they are using a higher SVG standard (probably 2.0).

Do you think there will be support for 2.0 soon? Even in unstable version.

I doubt if this is related to SVG 2.0. It appears to be a scaling issue of some sort. There is an ellipse in this drawing with a very wide stroke and a black fill. If I edit the stroke width and remove the fill I get the attached result. In Inkscape this result looks more interesting, however, the IE11 display is still incompatible with Inkscape so there may be some other problems as well.

The paths with 'vector-effect="non-scaling-stroke"' render correctly with Inkscape 0.92.0 r15299.

The remaining issue is usage of CSS3 color functions for fill paints: Two circles use rgba(0,0,0,0) for the fill color, a CSS3 color notation not yet supported in Inkscape.

Adding support for rgba() and hsla() is tracked in:
* Bug #1489187 “CSS 3 rgba and hsla notation (color with alpha) is not supported”

Proposing to close this report as 'Fix Released' with milestone 0.92:
Support for 'vector-effect="non-scaling-stroke"' was added in trunk in revision 15177:

and backported to the stable release branch in rev 15178:
