Inkscape crashes repeatedly, when selecting or changing objects z-order

Bug Description

I get repeated crashes, doing many different things. Importing images, selecting things, changing an object's draw order by selecting the object and page up. Nothing does it 100% of the time though.

I have attached a zip file containing 5 exports of information from gdb (using the bt command as instructed).

If you wish me to send the file, please let me know and I can send it to you (it's an 11mb svg file).

Please take a look it's driving me nuts!
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks for taking the time to file a report!

According to you logs, at least one of your bug is already known (and fixed in the next version):
* Bug #1467103 "Crash due to re-registering GdkPixbufGdipAnim during BMP read".

For the other issues, do they occur with a specific file? If so, could you please attach it to the report so that we could investigate?

summary: - Inkscape crashes repeatedly, on different things

This is the file I was working with. Inkscape does seem to be particularly bothered by this one, I don't get as many crashes working with other files.

So it sounds like the bug that's fixed in the next version had to do with dragging images into inkscape? That was one of my frequent crashes.

How do I get the newer version? I think I saw I could get a devel version, would it be fixed there? Or when would a new release be out?

Thanks for your file.

Development snapshots for Windows (32 and 64-bit) are available for testing at ftp://download.tuxfamily.org/inkscape/
The latest files are quite close (there are still some blocker bugs to fix) to what should be the next 0.92, but the release date is not decided yet.

Just played for 5-10 minutes with your file (nice Ansaldo plane, by the way) with Inkscape trunk 14990 on Windows XP (32-bit), but didn't manage to reproduce the crash so far. I'll try again as soon as I have access to a 64-bit computer.

I was working on the file again. What I'm trying to do is edit the "My White" gradients. I managed to catch two more backtraces. The first crash was when I selected a gradient dot, the second was while zooming out after editing the gradient. There's a description at the top of each crash file that describes my exact steps.

Another time it crashed so hard it broke gdb and I couldn't get a backtrace. I had to kill gdb to get the application to go away. I was so surprised that I forgot to write down what I was doing.
